Moment of Wow – Naked Urban Decay Palette

That feeling when you open a package and you find something you’ve been wanting for ages but never been able to justify to buy – it’s priceless. I’ve always preferred loose pigment as eye shadow and have been using Bare Minerals for ages. To be honest, I think I’ve probably been missing out and although I’ve always loved the look of the NAKED palettes, I’ve never got around to buying one.

The Naked Urban Decay palette was given to me as part of 32Red’s campaign about giving someone a wow and surprise. It definitely did wow me! It’s a perfect palette of colours for me as it goes on a scale of not too warm beige tones, to some colder colder and darker tones. It’s perfect for doing the classic ‘naked’ look as well as a smoky eye. For me it’s perfect for my everyday makeup for work as I usually do a more neutral look or a slight smoky eye. Having all the colours in a palette is so much easier than using separate loose pigment containers, perfect when you’re in a rush in the morning.

Two of my favourite colours from the palette are Darkhorse and Creep. Darkhorse got a slight green tint to it which is perfect when you want to add a bit more interest to a neutral look. Creep is perfect for the slight smoky look, although it doesn’t cover as much as a dark or black loose pigment shadow would do it still creates a perfectly soft contour to the eye.

I’ve been wowed by the gift itself as well as the quality, versatility, and usefulness of it. Needless to say, I love it. It’s great when a new piece of beauty product, especially makeup, makes you that little bit more excited to get ready in the morning. So very trivial I know, but it’s about the small things in life, right?
