I recently had a little one-two-one with communications coordinator Lucy from Estée Lauder who introduced me to some new product launches from Smashbox as well as Bumble and Bumble (who knew Estée Lauder own most well-known beauty brands by the way?!). I was instantly smitten by the new Full Potential Hair Preserving series of products form Bumble and Bumble, a trio of products including Full Potential Hair Preserving shampoo, conditioner and booster spray – all to create hair that is healthier by targeting both the scalp and the roots as well as the rest of the hairs all the way to the ends. It contains so called Hair Preserve Blend™ which acts as a ‘liquid bandage’ for the hair to make it strong and nourished, which will make the hair denser and fuller. The products also contains creatine to keep hair looking healthy, UV absorbers to protect against UV damage and menthol for a cool tingling sensation. The shampoo is prices at £23.00, the conditioner £25.00, and the booster spray £38.00. A good point Lucy raised is the fact that you can’t expect great results if you don’t treat the products as a regime, i.e. using all the products regularly as instructed. I’ve been using it a few times now and so far I really like it! It’s got a unisex packaging and smell (which I love), so it can be used by anyone. I’ll have to report back further on to see if I can see any long term results!
Next we talked about some exciting new launches from Smashbox Cosmetics. First up, some new shades of lipsticks in their Be Legendary collection that come in both cream and matte, depending on what finish is preferred. The big news though, is their new CLEAR lip liner – the new Always Sharp Clear Lip Liner. It’s really a great idea as it makes the lipstick last longer, without the need for perfect precision application. Because it is clear, it will work with all your shades of lipsticks and you don’t need to buy a lip liner with each lipstick. It retails at £15.50 so it saves both time and money! That’s my type of product that…
Another exciting launch from Smashbox is their new mascara collection. It includes the mascaras X-Rated, Indecent Exposure and Full Exposure, as well as the lash primer Photo Finish Lash Primer. The X-Rated are not for the faint hearted, it is a mascara perfect for building volume with its three rows of bristles that supposedly gives clump-free definition. The Indecent Exposure mascara is for length with a brush that is made for separation and also has a macro spiral tip that can reach all those lashes in the corner of the eyes. The Full Exposure mascara has thicker bristles for a full top-heavy effect that delivers shine and lifted lashes.
The Photo Finish Lash Primer is set out to make any mascara last longer, and it also conditions lashes to prevent flaking or smudging. The brush has 2 sides of moulded bristles with one ultra-thin comb to ensure each lash stands out in high definition. I love this type of brush as it’s so easy to apply, and combined with the silky smooth texture of the primer itself it doesn’t feel like an extra effort to put on, especially when it takes your mascara to the next level! It comes in at £17, and the mascaras are priced at £19.50.
