I recently attended the La Redoute Summer Party that was hosted at the New Craven Hall in south Leeds. The location of the event was actually a secret until we arrived there by mini bus and it was well worth the little trip from Leeds city centre. I’ve never been to the New Craven Hall before and it seems to be a relatively new addition to event spaces in Leeds. I can imagine it being perfect as a wedding venue, as it was perfect for a blogger event.
When we arrived, we were greeted with a welcome drink and had a chance to mingle before all the bloggers were gathered. We were then introduced to some of the collections from La Redoute that we could browse through and also try on! Such a great concept really: gather a group of fashion bloggers, give them alcohol and clothes to try on and a photographer to take their picture = instantly successful event.
Here are Maria from Fashion Infatuation and I, modelling some of the clothes we got to try on. I really liked the dress Maria is wearing, it fitted her really well and the colour worked very well with her complexion.
I absolutely loved this navy patterned shirt dress! As I got to keep it (yay!) it will be an autumn favourite I think, perfect to wear with boots and easy to style up or down depending on the occasion.
The ice cream van was another favourite of the night. Because, obviously, what is a summer party without ice cream?! Also, for a group of bloggers ice cream (especially whippy style ice cream) creates a perfect opportunity for great Instagram/social media images! I was of course guilty of this typical blogger ice cream shot as well as you can see below together with my other Instagram posts from the evening.
I’m quite glad I went (perhaps, slightly) overboard with my Instagramming on the night as it won me a prize!! I won Instagram Extraordinaire and the prize was a full hair experience at Le Keux Vintage Salon in Leeds. I haven’t been able to use it yet, but their vintage up does and make overs looks amazing.
A massive thank you to the lovely Laura (pictured above) from A Forte for Fashion for doing a great job hosting the event. I had a lovely time catching up with some blogger friends and I’m really glad I got the opportunity to come along and do so as it was the last event in Leeds I managed to go to before moving down south to start working in London. But more about that another time…
