The Necessary Luxury of Glasses

I have more glasses than I need, some people would argue. If you see glasses as an essential aid to make you see properly, I’m inclined to agree that I have more than I need. But since I see glasses as part of my outfit and as a fashion statement, I do not. It’s the same for your shoes or the watch you’re wearing: they have traits that make them essential for us to wear, but that doesn’t mean you can’t use them to be part of your outfit and as a fashion statement to express yourself.

My new glasses from Specsavers¬†are perhaps not the strongest of fashion statements as they are very simple and black. However, they are a perfect compliment for when I go for a more simple, monochrome, or sophisticated look. They are a pair of Karl Lagerfeld glasses in matt black metal – very light weight be they still ooze quality. They’re stable and stays put all day without making me feel uncomfortable at all. In fact, I forget that I wear them.

When it comes to glasses and using them to compliment your outfits, I love the fact that Specsavers does 2 for 1. It encourages us to think about glasses as less of a necessity and more as a luxury we can afford. I only got these Karl Lagerfeld ones this time because as I mentioned I have quite a few already and I just fell so hard for these ones I couldn’t find another pair at that time I wanted as much. I love the case as well with its imprint of Karl’s head. I absolutely love his perfumes as well so you could say I’m a bit of a Karl fan…
