With 2018 around the corner, it’s hard to predict which interior design trends will come into style. This year, it was very much marble flooring; all white everything and an influx of wooden venetian blinds instead of the classic curtain. Judging by the likes of Elle Interiors and other Interior Magazines, below are some of the top predicted trends that may be appearing in 2018.
Goodbye white marble floors/tiles/everything, hello mixed metals and designs. A lot of focus at the moment can be seen on black kitchen cupboards, mixed colour marble work tops and splash of colour in terms of decoration. When paired with bold metals, this can look amazing. But one mistake, and you’re left with a room space that doesn’t mesh very well.
Rose Gold who? Next year it’s predicted that rose gold will be replaced by pure gold. Linking in with the 70’s revolution in interiors recently, prepare yourselves for gold furniture, mirrors, ornate decorations and more…
Lilac is the new Millennial Pink. Paired with grey items, lilac and even plum coloured walls can look grandiose and regal, which is why it’s thought that it might make a comeback next year, especially throughout winter thanks to the warm purple tones. Along with lilac, it’s thought that peach will be making an appearance when it comes to bold wall colours. Similar to dusty pink, the colour pairs well with gold, which would be a perfect replacement for the copper and rose gold trend that hit us this year!
Unlike the modernist minimal vibes we got at the beginning of the year, the 70s are making a huge comeback in terms of interior design. I’m talking huge fluffy rugs, baroque flooring and ornate light fixtures.
What do you think will be one of the top trends for interior design next year?
