I’ve been a lazy Pinterester lately, but will be upping my game soon as I need some new inspiration for when we eventually move down south. The latest progress on our move is that we will realistically be looking to move within the next few months. I know that’s not very specific, but it’s becoming more real now which means I can start planning new home decor in my head…
I always start with the living room as that is the heart of my home. It’s where I spend most of my time: on the sofa with my laptop. One major thing I want to change with our living room when we move is our sofa. I do love the IKEA three seater we have now, but I’m just really missing somewhere to put my legs up. Me and the other half struggle to both fit on it together if we want to lay down comfortable – so I think a corner sofa would be the perfect solution. Another thing I’m keen on changing up is the colour scheme. I love grey and the Scandinavian style we’ve got going on now, but at the moment I’ve gone a bit overboard with black and gold. I want to back to some more pastels and perhaps copper as opposed to gold to lighten it up a bit.
I love the idea of a more fun version of the very cold and white Scandinavian minimalism. The great thing about it is that if you make sure to get clean light basics, you can add decorations in different colours that you can change up depending on your mood. I don”t know how you feel about plants, but I have a love-hate relationship with them. I can’t keep them alive, I even manage to kill cacti. They do add so much to a room though and they can be an essential part of the decor. My top tip – get a realistic plastic plant, they can’t die.
Here’s a bit of inspiration for a potential new living room of ours in a perfectly Pinnable image *hint hint*.
